In a move to tackle the rising cost of living, Co-op Academies Trust has announced a massive support initiative: every student starting Year 7 at their secondary schools will receive their branded uniform items free of charge.
Usually, the “branded” requirement is what drives up the total cost of a school shop, but this year, the Trust is stepping in to bridge the gap.

Why It Matters
With high school uniforms often costing upwards of £100–£200 per child once you factor in sportswear and formal wear, this move is being hailed as a “lifeline” for local households.
